What is the difference between chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcy?

In a chapter 7 bankruptcy nearly all debts are completely discharged by the court.  This allows the individual to get out from under debts that have become impossible to pay back.  A chapter 13 bankruptcy, on the other hand, allows the debtor to repay over time his/her creditors based on a schedule that the debtor, the creditor, and the trustee have previously agreed on.  This is a great option for those who have a lot of assets and who can, with a little help from the court, establish a payment plan with their creditors.

What is the difference between a divorce and a dissolution?

A dissolution is pursued when both parties are agreeable to the terms of marital separation.  A divorce is usually pursued when there are questions that a judge must consider, such as, the division of property, the custody of children, spousal and child support, etc.
